Camera kits for Vicodis

Each people counting camera kit puts an Axis camera with counting app and licence together: an indoor people counting camera for main entrances and an outdoor people counting camera, both pre-configured and shipped with the latest AXIS OS. Or bring an Axis camera you already own.

  • Camera and Visitor Counter licence in one kit
  • Both kits on the current ARTPEC-9 generation, with zoom lens
  • Runs on your own Axis camera, too

Indoor

Indoor PRO, AXIS P3275-V

The kit for main entrances with steady traffic. The P3275-V is an ARTPEC-9 people counting camera — the current Axis chip generation, with the most processing headroom for analytics on the camera.

  • ARTPEC-9, the preferred platform for Vicodis
  • Zoom lens for mounting heights up to 6 m
  • Ready for Zone as master or satellite
  • For busy entrances and long-term use
Outdoor

Outdoor PRO, AXIS P3275-LVE

The same ARTPEC-9 platform in an outdoor housing with built-in infrared, for entrances outside, under a canopy or at the gate of a car park — including after dark.

  • Weather-protected outdoor dome
  • Infrared for dark entrances
  • Suits Vicodis Vehicle on streets and at car park gates
Your own camera

Bringing your own Axis camera

Vicodis runs on every Axis camera with a deep-learning processing unit (DLPU) that supports AXIS Object Analytics — the ARTPEC-9, ARTPEC-8 and CV25 platforms. There is no separate model approval list. ARTPEC-9 is the preferred generation, which is why both PRO kits use the P3275 range.

Send us the model of the camera on your wall and we check it free of charge.

Mounting

Mounting height and coverage

The right mounting height: people counter cameras see best from above. Mount the camera from 2.50 m upwards, aim it at the door and draw the counting line close to the frame. A higher position sees better over people walking side by side and covers a wider doorway.

How high is too high depends on the installation. From around 6 m, the camera needs a zoom lens so that people are still large enough in the image — both kit cameras, the P3275-V and the P3275-LVE, have one.

How wide a doorway one camera can cover depends on the mounting height, the lens angle of view and the lighting. The full procedure is in installing and aiming the camera.

FAQ

Questions about the camera kits

01

Can I use an Axis camera I already own?

Yes, if it has a deep-learning processing unit and supports AXIS Object Analytics, which covers the ARTPEC-9, ARTPEC-8 and CV25 platforms. There is no separate approval list. Send us the model name and we check it free of charge, including whether its lens and mounting position suit the entrance you want to count.

02

Which kit should I choose?

It depends on where the camera hangs. Indoor PRO is meant for entrances inside the building, Outdoor PRO for entrances outside, under a canopy or at a car park gate, including after dark. Both use the newest chip generation and a zoom lens. If in doubt, describe the entrance and we recommend one.

03

How high does the camera have to be mounted?

From 2.50 metres upwards. A higher position gives the camera a better view over people walking side by side and lets one camera cover a wider doorway. From around 6 metres the camera needs a zoom lens, which both kit cameras have. The installation guide explains the details.

04

Does a kit include the licence?

Yes. Every kit combines the camera with a Vicodis Visitor Counter licence that is bound to exactly that camera, so there is nothing else to buy for counting at one door. Add-ons such as Zone or Vehicle can be added to a kit camera at any time with a new licence key.

How many visitors does your entrance really have?

Tell us your camera model or your project — we check compatibility and come back with a concrete proposal.
