Own code
The app, the licensing and the dashboard are built by our own team, not bought in.
Who builds Vicodis? A team at Data Components, Berlin — founded in 2004, Axis Solution Partner and Axis Technology Integration Partner (TIP). We write the app, we answer the support emails, and we never see your data.
Counting visitors at museums, venues and public buildings
Since it was founded in 2004, Data Components has planned, installed and maintained Axis video systems — for museums, public buildings, venues and companies. Vicodis grew out of that work: out of entrances we knew, cameras we had mounted and questions customers kept asking.
Our customers wanted visitor numbers, but many of them were not allowed to send anything to a cloud, and their data protection officers wanted to know exactly where every image goes. The cameras on their walls could already count. What was missing was an app that does the rest on the camera too.
The software is written in-house. Questions are answered by the people who wrote it — see support and Vicodis Care.
The app, the licensing and the dashboard are built by our own team, not bought in.
We run no portal and receive no counts. Your figures stay on your cameras.
Every version runs on Axis cameras in our own office before it reaches yours.
As Axis Solution Partner, Data Components designs and installs complete Axis systems. As Axis Technology Integration Partner (TIP), we build software that runs inside Axis devices. Vicodis is an ACAP application, signed for installation on Axis cameras.
How an anonymous counting system is classified under the EU AI Act and the Cyber Resilience Act, and which documents we provide: regulatory classification of an anonymous counting system.
Installers and resellers working with Axis cameras can offer Vicodis to their customers: working with Vicodis as a partner.
