Getting the app

30 days with a trial licence from us

The trial comes directly from us: we send you the app package by email, and a 30-day trial licence for Axis cameras, issued by us for your camera’s device ID. You install it like any other Axis camera app.

No contract, no payment details, no account with us — a short request through the contact form is enough. If needed, we help with the initial setup by remote access.

01

Install the app

Upload the package we send you on the camera’s Apps page.

02

Send the device ID

Shown in the Licence tab of the Vicodis dashboard.

03

Paste the key

Counting starts at once, for 30 days.

Scope

What is included in the trial

This people counting free trial includes everything the Vicodis Visitor Counter does — no reduced demo version.

Counting lines

Entries, exits and the number of people inside, from the lines you draw.

Live view

Traffic light and full-screen entry display with your capacity.

History and reports

Calendar, day detail, CSV and PDF export for the trial period.

Add-ons on request

Zone or Vehicle can be included in the trial key if you want to test them.

Setup

Installing the app on your camera

What you need to test people counting app results at your own entrance: an Axis camera with AXIS Object Analytics — ARTPEC-9, ARTPEC-8 or CV25 — mounted above the entrance. Then:

  • Install Vicodis on the camera by uploading the package on the camera’s Apps page.
  • In AXIS Object Analytics, create a counting line for entries and one for exits, close to the door frame.
  • Open the Vicodis dashboard, select the two lines by name and enter the capacity of the room.
  • Paste the trial key in the Licence tab. Counting starts immediately.

Mounting height, aiming and where exactly the line belongs are explained in installing and aiming the camera.

After 30 days

What happens when the trial ends

When the 30 days are over, Vicodis is designed to stop counting new crossings. Everything counted so far stays visible in the dashboard, the calendar and the reports. Nothing is deleted and nothing is charged.

  • Counting pauses. No new figures are recorded.
  • Your data stays. History and reports remain readable.
  • No automatic purchase. Nothing happens unless you order.
Next step

Moving from trial to licence

If Vicodis fits, you order the licence for the same camera and receive a permanent key. Paste it in the Licence tab and counting continues — same app, same settings, same history. All figures are on prices for Vicodis.

FAQ

Questions about the trial

01

Do I need payment details for the trial?

No. The trial is free and needs no credit card or payment details. You install the app, send us the device ID of your camera and receive a key that runs the full feature set for 30 days. Nothing is charged when it ends, and there is no automatic switch to a paid licence.

02

Are the counts from the trial kept when I buy?

Yes. The trial and the full licence use the same app and the same database on the camera. When you paste the permanent key, counting simply continues and the history from the trial stays in the calendar and the reports. Nothing has to be reinstalled or set up again.

03

Can I test Zone or Vehicle in the trial?

Yes, on request. Tell us which modules you want to try when you ask for the trial key, and we include them for the 30 days. For Zone, the master camera and every satellite need their own trial key, because each licence is bound to one camera.

How many visitors does your entrance really have?

Tell us your camera model or your project — we check compatibility and come back with a concrete proposal.
